Founded in Stratford in 1996, Balzac’s Coffee Roasters was inspired by the entrepreneurial and artistic vision of Diana Olsen. Her ambition was to bring the life of the Grand Cafés of Paris. There are now 14 locations across Ontario, and each every café is specifically designed to embody the cultural nuances and historical significance of the location it’s in. They proudly boast their efforts in reducing the environmental impact of its cafés and coffee production. 

Red Brick Café

The Red Brick Café opened in downtown Guelph in October 2006 and has since been one of Guelph’s favourite coffee shops and eateries. Planet Bean Coffee offers over a dozen fresh roasted, gourmet coffees and many fresh baked goods to compliment any delicious, handcrafted beverage from one of their highly skilled baristas. Since 1997, they have been roasting Certified Fairtrade and Organic beans. They also roast to order in small batches - there is no warehouse to store coffee, so you know it’s always fresh roasted.
